Job Description
As a web designer, you will be responsible for the following. Hands on experience on E – Commerce sites will be an added advantage.
- Understanding a customer's brief and converting that
into appealing, highly usable interfaces using Photoshop
- Developing user-friendly web sites/landing
pages using front end technologies like html, CSS, Javascript/jQuery
- Creating web banners and
email newsletters for promotional purpose
- Learning and applying new technologies to ongoing
projects
- Providing technical solution and assumes overall
accountability for a successful implementation phase on all projects
- Liaising closely with the client at the
conceptualization stage to answer questions such as: why is the site
needed, who is the target audience, who are the leading competitors
etc.
- Create design prototypes, including graphic design,
site navigation, and layout of content and ensure that the layout of the
content is accessible and logical.
- To create visual concepts that matches the content and
the image wanted by the clients.
- Designing a draft site for client approval or
modification.
- Advising the client on categories and information
needed to construct the site.
- To design websites ensure that they are
visually effective and easy to access.
- Test websites compatibility on different
resolutions and browsers such as IE, Firefox, Safari.
- Utilize design skills and creativity to come
up with new, and innovative designs for websites, landing
pages, micro sites, banner ads, etc.
- Perform maintenance and updates to
existing websites when requested by clients.
- Provide training on maintenance and update procedures
to clients who choose to take charge of their own websites.
- Having Knowledge of
HTML5, CSS3 & Java Script & JQuery
- Having knowledge of
Image Editing Tool like: Photoshop, Corel Draw or etc.
- Basic Knowledge of CMS:
Word press, Magneto or etc.
- Multimedia programming
and technology
- Need to know clients to
identify their needs and liaising regularly with them
- Drawing up detailed
website specifications
- Designing sample page
layouts including text size and colors
- Designing graphics,
animations and manipulating digital photographs
- Presenting initial
design ideas to client
- Coding using a variety
of software
- Proofreading content
and grammar and making changes where necessary
- Working with other web
specialists including web developers and graphic designers
- Continual professional
development to keep up to date with new software developments
